Academia often prioritizes individualism and competition, frequently at the expense of our well-being and our students' success. This session, inspired by Catherine Denial’s A Pedagogy of Kindness, challenges the status quo. We will explore kindness not as "niceness" designed to just "get along," but as a transformational practice that ensures justice and builds trust. We will consider how prioritizing care for both students and ourselves can transform our classrooms into spaces where everyone can thrive.
