Join TTL and the AI task force to view some webinars relating to AI in higher education. These webinars are recorded by the AAC&U and have been made available thanks to a team of SU faculty and staff participating in their Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum. The first hour of our meeting will involve watching a selected webinar recording together, and the last 30 minutes will be for group discussion. We look forward to learning together with you!

The description for this week's webinar, "When Should Students Use AI in the Writing Process?" is below:

In any college course that involves writing assignments, it can be challenging to decide when, and how much, students should be encouraged or allowed to collaborate with chatbots. This session will help instructors assess what AI use for a writing assignment might be appropriate, based on students’ baseline skills, familiarity with course content, and the learning outcomes for the course. The guidance offered centers on the concept of expertise–what it is, and how both students and professionals develop it. Tasks covered will include student use of AI for brainstorming, outlining, drafting, feedback on drafts, revision and editing.
